The person that I chosen to interview was an auto mechanic. His name is Yareem Kareem Ali Jr. He is 25 years old, and has an auto shop in Lawnside New Jersey. The business is called AutoTrans . AutoTrans is an auto shop that was a family business for almost 20 years now. Yareem inherited the business from his father. In 2006 the business started going down hill. In 2007 the shop was about to be shut down for good, but Yareem decided to take the chance and go ahead with the family business, and reopen the shop. He did not really have to worry about paying the shop do to the fact that his grand-father owned it. When he reopened the auto shop from his inheritance he went and applied for grants and small business loan to reopen the shop and make improvements that needed to be done. He also hired new mechanics which are both full-time and two front desk clerks to help with the filing, making appointments, and tending to the customers while their vehicle is being taken care of. Another one of the questions that I brought when I was going through the interview was when you hired your mechanics and your front desk clerks what kind of questions do you ask during the interview? He said “ he said that he always as if they have kids”, he said the reasoning for this is so that he knows that if there is an emergency or something along the line like that, he is kind of aware of the situation, and if they by any chance they are working another job, if so, would it affect them working during the hrs of 9am to 5pm?

I asked him why did he choose to become an entrepreneur? He said “why not take a job and an opportunity that falls right in your lap? I found it to be something that I am good at and enjoy doing. The men in my family always taught their sons to be good with cars, and home improvements. I was not so successful with the home improvement venture, so I decided to go back to fixing cars, but just do it professionally.” He also said that the...
