Many organizations demand an effective management and leadership to manage and execute core functions of daily operations. In today’s viable and develop global market, a structure workflow of operations is necessary for success. The main objective of this paper is to express the importance and value of operations management in health care organizations. The explanation of the roles and goals of a health care operations manager as well as which role is the most important.
Healthcare Operations Management is a discipline that integrates scientific principles of management to determine the most efficient and optimal methods to support patient care delivery (Langabeer, 2008). Operations management is as the quantitative management of supporting business systems and processes that transform resources (or inputs) into health care services (outputs). Operations management has many roles and goals to accomplish as one of the leaders of a business.
Roles of Operations Management
The main function of operations management is to convert a company’s input that is comprised of workers and managers, into a complete goods or serviced, which is known as the output. Inputs are described as the resources, and assets such as labor and capital, consist of cash, technology, equipment, and information. Outputs are the actual production and distribution of health care services. Operations management is in control of orchestrating all the capitals needed to develop the final product. Operations management makes sure that the finest quality of health care is received.
