Introduction

In America there are a number of Baptist churches. Some have the same beliefs and principles. There are some whose beliefs and principles differ slightly from the other Baptist churches. The following paper will have a brief description of the St. Baptist church. It will discuss the beliefs and practices of the religion. It will also describe how this Baptist church is like and unlike other Baptist churches in America. Also, the paper will compare this religion to the other religions of the world.

Review of site Visit

The information is the paper was volunteered by the preacher of St. James Baptist church. His name is Mr. Brooks. Mr. Brooks is a very knowledgeable man when it came to discussing the bible, the contents within the bible, and the religion. The church is located in a very small unmodernized town in West Texas. The congregation of this church is very small but also very devoted to their beliefs. By driving up to this church one could tell that the people showed great pride in their place of worship. The lawn was manicured. Also, for a church as small and unmodernized as it was; the maintenance was kept up to date.

Interview Summary

When conducting this interview there was no discomfort or aquardness. Mr. Brooks was nothing but gracious and hospitable. He had a lighthearted personality but also took the interview very seriously. When beginning our conversation he wanted to talk about where the Baptist religion began. He explained, “There are many theories about where our religion began”. “I believe it was when John the Baptist began his teachings and baptizing the people of Israel”. I asked him, “What are the other theories”? He replied, “The only one I can remember is the one about certain individuals starting the Baptist religion because they believed that being baptized was the only way of getting to heaven, hence the word Baptist”.
