Overview

The assignment is in the form of a written report and is to be completed individually.

This assignment contributes 50% to the final mark of the unit.

Research topic:

Select one multinational corporation (other than Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart, or Shell) and undertake research. Write up your research in report format focusing on the following points:

 1. What is the company’s official ethical stance? – (20%)

 2.  What are the accusations made against the company’s business activities (by various stakeholders such as NGOs and employees)? Analyse the company’s business practices which are deemed unethical using different ethical theories. – (40%)

 3. Make recommendations as to how the company you have chosen could improve its position with regards to ethical behaviours and become a more ethical organisation. (Use what you have learned through the unit in making the recommendations) – (40%)

* The percentage given to each section of the assignment above is only an indication of how much space and focus you should give to the section within the report. Your assignment will be given only one overall mark.

* The word limit is 2,500 excluding direct quotations and bibliography.

* Exceeding the word limit without prior permission may result in the penalisation of the mark by up to 10%.
