The Gloucester Fish article is a very interested story of how a small town in Massachusetts destroyed a decade of law enforcement. This article revolves around Larry Ciulla and his seafood auction house and a counterpart Andy Cohen and NOAA special agency is in charge of fishing regulations in the Northeast. On Dec. 7, 2006 Cohen and other agents form NOAA raided the Gloucester fish auction house in suspicion of regulations being broken. Larry was found guilty of purchasing illegal amounts of fish from fisherman. Larry was hit with a bunch of fines for his actions at the the auction house Larry got help from local politicians to fight the fines, which resulted in being acquitted of most of the fines. But then Larry was hit with a class action lawsuit from other local fishermen that were affected by his over fishing actions. The local fishermen won the suit and Larry had to fill bankruptcy and get rid of the auction house.

This article is a perfect example of a social dilemma to be more specific a taking dilemma. A taking dilemma is when people from industries extract or use resources is this case fishing and have to make decisions in the context of a social dilemma. If they extract too much, the resources would be depleted, but while they are depleting the resources, they are profiting greatly. This was the cause with Larry, he was purchasing the illegal limit of fish so he could produce a bigger profit. Larry was acting on his own self -interest instead of the collective self -interest of the environment and the other local fishermen that were affected by his illegal actions.
