The Hindu religion is one of the oldest religions of the world. Even though Hinduism lacks a uniting belief system, it remains to have one of the largest followings of ancient religions around the world today. There are many cultural and societal influences that have assisted Hinduism into being an instrumental belief system to its faithful followers. With these strong influences ingrained into the Hindu religion, its people have a resilient need to free themselves from earth into their heaven with making good actions throughout their lives. With years of history, Hinduism is a strong and vital religion today with rich myths and traditions of yesterday.

Hinduism is really multiple beliefs and disciplines merged together into a unified religion. The Himalayan Academy states that “Hinduism, the world’s oldest religion, has no beginning—it (Hinduism) precedes recorded history. It has no human founder. It is a mystical religion, leading the devotee to personally experience the Truth within, finally reaching the pinnacle of consciousness where man and God are one.” (2010). Hinduism consists of myths and traditions passed from generation to generation. These stories consist of information on how to properly please the Hindu deities. These myths and traditions are the backbone or core values that the Hindu people believe.

There are many cultural and societal influences that have made Hinduism vital to the region in which it originated. Amalia Cimpean stated that, “In cultural traditions the divine or deities would bless, punish and protect the people depending on how well they were venerated.
