BRIEF HISTORY

St.Louis College of Bulanao originated from the opening of St. William’s Academy during the school 1965-1966 the opening of the Academy was the offshoot of the request of various religious organization hence opening started as an annex of St. Theresitas School in Tabuk, Kalinga.

January 3, 1967: The official establishment to open a college in Tabuk after havingbeen incorporated on November 4’1966.

1968-1969 - The school year brought a gratifying response to the yearning of the people of Kalinga and Apayao to have a college of their own. Saint Louis College of Bulanao which was affiliated with Saint Louis University of Baguio was temporarily housed in the building and grounds of the St. Williams Academy.

The college opened with Bachelor of Arts [AB], Bachelor of Science in Education [BSE], Associate in Secretarial Science [ASS] and Press-Nursing Rev. Fr. Andrew Nowe, CICM was the first Restor.

The first semester saw the emergence of such student’s activities like the Supreme Student Council.

The “Highlights” which was the College Organ, The Maharlika and the maintainers Cultural Dance troupes.

1969-1970 – a felt need to a new college building emerged plans were for the construction of a new two storey college building which started in the letter part of the year. Rev. Father Paul Haverbeke took over the rector’s hip when Fr. Nowe bad his home leaves.

The first batch of 20 graduates of the two year secretarial course was produced on April 12, 1970.

January 1971 – marked the formal inauguration of the new building the ‘highlights’ was officially changed to the “orients”.

1972 – The founder at first rector, Rev. Fr. Andres Nowe was installed as college president.

1973 – 1974- permit to operate the first and second year of the college of commerce was granted by the Deptartment of Education. At that time Fr. Andres Nowe bad to act as college president for SLCT, the...
