There are several differences between each of the theories we have read about in Unit 2. The classical approach is very direct and I believe it puts a lot of responsibility on a manager which I believe a manager is supposed to have. The contingency approach I believe is very laid back because it ‘all depends’ on the situation, the worker, the project at hand, the macro-environment, and the competitive environment. The differences between those two are very obvious one laid back and one a little more strict and disciplined. I definitely don’t think that being laid back would be the way to go. The systems approach seems to be a little like the contingency plan because it consists of inputs, transformation processes output and feedback. The behavioral approach seemed to me that it is all about socialization rather than working which cannot be good for the work environment.

Now on to the approach that I think is the best. That would have to be the Classical Approach. I believe that it is the best because like Fredrick Taylor I believe that lack of productivity is due to lack of management. If you don’t have a good manager to lead by example your business is bound to fail. I also like that in this approach it is believed that the role of management is to develop one way to do a task, select, train, develop and teach each worker. The other thing that I like about this approach is that management is to cooperate with workers and provide an incentive to insure that work in done properly. The one thing I do believe in most about this approach is to divide work properly between management and labor. Like I said earlier in this paragraph I think having a good manager will increase the productivity of a business because workers like to do as they see so if you have a slacker for a manager you will undoubtedly have slackers for workers.
