Typical Day

It can become very difficult to manage school, work and a family so I try to plan accordingly. I normally work 9-12 hours daily, so normally I like to work on my school work between 9 and 11 p.m. This is usually the only quite time I have to complete assignments and study for my classes. I like to put about 1 to 2 hours of time in daily on completing assignments and staying ahead in my classes. I base my preparation on what I have due the soonest, so those areas of study are covered the best.

Understanding all the parts of an assignment is going to determine my success here at GCU. Comprehension of assignments will dictate whether the assignment is fully understood or not. It is also better to ask plenty questions to your instructor about the assignment if you don’t feel completely comfortable with how to complete it. Misunderstanding an assignment can be disastrous, and cause a failing grade on the assignment.

Once I read over an assignment, I like to determine on how long it will take for me to complete it and base my studying off of that. If I feel it will only take an hour to complete and it’s fairly easy, then I will put about 2 hours a week into preparing for it. I do like to take a few minutes each day to look over the assignment to keep the assignment fresh in my mind. I like to stay ahead in all of my assignments, but not too far ahead and not to late either.
