CONDUCTING POLYMER
INTRODUCTION-
Polymers are high molecular weight compounds whose structures are composed of a large numbers of simple repeating units. The repeating units are usually obtained from low molecular weight simple compounds referred to as monomers. The conversion process , monomers →polymer, is known as polymerisation. The formation of polyethylene is an example of this process.

▪SOME BASICS POINTS RELATED TO POLYMERS:-----------------------
● A polymer is a large molecule (a macro molecule) built up from many hundreds or thousands of monomers joined together.
●Polymers which are made from only one kind of monomers are called homopolymers.
●Polymers which are made from more than one kind of monomer are called copolymers.
●In process of polymerisation many smaller molecules combine together to produce molecules of high molecular weight.
●Equation of polymerisation is given by
POLYMERISATION
n CH2 = CH2 — CH2 ― CH2 —

WHERE n IS VERY LARGE NUMBER .
●polymers are said to be linear if the repeating units are joined together like links in a chain. The chains may be branched , or joined together by cross –links or...
