Marketing directors all over the United States and further have had to make the decisions as to what is in the best interest for the company they represent, meaning whether they want to outsource the photography to an outside photo studio, or set up and maintain an in-house photography department.

Although each companies circumstances are unique and therefore the needs of every company should be looked into and indulgence individually.

First one must look at their own situation in all possible angles, this essential to being able to reflect on the pros and the cons of outsourcing. First a few of the cons, some of the cons that should be taken into consideration when thinking of outsourcing are; the possible loss of control over projects, meaning no one can really bring your ideas to life, but you. Lack of quality, meaning what the company expects and the standards they may hold themselves to, the company they have chosen to hire may not have they high of standards. Extra costs, cost that were not presented up front as many times a company will offer up a quote or contract but more times then not something could or will go wrong causing the company more unexpected costs. Any time photos or other information is sent to an external company there is a risk in security. Finally, outsourcing could bring bad publicity or give a company a bad name; saying that the particular company does not care about the little people and/or supporting their community, in turn there is a lack of loyalty.

Now, let us go over some of the pros to outsourcing photography to an external studio. When making the decision to outsource, the following pros must be considers regardless of the list of cons. Just based on the above list of cons, one may make a bias decisions not to outsource when it may be what is in the best interest of the company.
