Changes

Change as a survival tactic, if an organization does not keep pace the changing technology, consumer demands, and effective business processes, they will lose their competitive edge. As a leader, especially an aspiring leader, I would do well to stop focusing on control and figure out how to expand their influence. In current society, a leader who controls employees a lot leads an organization to a miserable situation, even loses their supporters. Hence, I would find some good ways to influence others.

First of all, is authority. In my opinion, I think authority depends on some certain conditions, but this style of leadership is not common right now. For example, in an organization which workers’ human behaviors are theory X, then it is better to control them instead of influence. In this way, workers can be directed straightly, which exerts efficient and productive influences inside the organization, and can be accomplished in a short period of time. Therefore no matter what kind of changes are made, they have no choice but obedience mostly.

Second, to making myself become an influence people. I know it is useless to use control as a method for managing an organization, so to be a person who makes workers willing to follow and commit my every proposal and change would be useful and significant. This requires me to focus on what I am doing to expand my experiences, or expertise. What is more, I need to show my initiative in this change, because as a dispassionate leader, how would I persuade people to have trust and confidence in me? Having initiative is good to seek and seize opportunities. This is quite the same as personal charisma. Hence, this will help set up visualize among employees, and people tend to believe the changes made by influential leader.

Third, effective communication. In this case, I might explain what made me feel the way I did, because feelings are not universal. Then clarify my exactly need in this change, pointing out discrepancies...
