To What is Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” Relevant to a Non-western Audience

An Inconvenient Truth, an American documentary film, was directed by Davis Guggenheim and presented by former US Vice President Al Gore. His same title book, which was published later, brought him Nobel Peace Prize of 2007.

An Inconvenient Truth mainly presents us about Al Gore who digs into the causes and affects of global warming in support of his efforts to educate the public about the severity of the climate crisis. In the film, Gore describes the consequences he believes global climate change will produce if the amount of human-generated greenhouse gases is not significantly reduced in the very near future. Meanwhile, Gore calls upon us to learn how we could help to protect our world. Although it is an American documentary film, it is highly relevant to me as a Chinese or to everyone on earth.

First of all, we are living in the same world despite our different nationalities and skin colors, and global warming is the danger we human beings are currently facing. Global warming is currently strangling our world. The world as a whole is producing more greenhouse gases than our atmosphere can release. Even though, the United Sates of America has to take the blame for the increasing of the output of the greenhouse gases, does it really have nothing to do with other countries? And the question asked by many that who is responsible simply puts all of us into responsibility.
