America is known as the land of opportunities. People from all over the world struggle for years going to the American embassies in hope of one day being able to say “I live in America. Thus, it’s not to hard to believe that our southern neighbors, whose country is ravaged by turmoil and economic chaos want a piece of the pie themselves. Illegal immigration is a huge problem for this country, but people that want to be part of this nation should not be punished for wanting to do so. This nation’s very foundation was built by people exasperated with their parent nation and deciding to do better for themselves. With keeping that in sight, this nation should work towards finding a solution to the immigration problem that could be acceptable to all parties. There are a couple of solutions that can be tabled from working towards a legal visa if they show themselves without fear of deportation.

Working towards legal residency is a great option. It is hard to believe anyone would choose to leave in the shadows, these people live in fear of deportation not because they want to but because it’s the simple reality for them. There is over 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States currently, that are not paying taxes. On average let’s say if a person that is single and independent making a living of about $25,000 a year pays about a $2,000 in taxes, that is about $24 billion additional revenue the Government would be able to collect. This would dramatically help reduce the deficit problem the country is currently facing and having to borrow money from our main competition economically speaking, China. Furthermore, this could be one of the options for millions of people trying to be part of our society. Not to mention this would make them long term contributing members of society and would be able contribute towards school education, social security, health care etc. This is one solution to the out of hand problem of immigration.
