The three sources I chose to use for the basis of my definition of “marketing” is our on-line course textbook Principles of Marketing Textbook (2011); Collins Dictionary of Business (2006); and Dictionary of Business Management (2009). My understanding of the word “marketing” is the process of creating, communicating, and delivering a product to its consumers and industry. This includes creating a price and advertising the product. The promoting of a product is a key to success with marketing. You can’t market a product without price, promotion, and distribution. By advertising you get a better feel for what the industry wants and needs.

I am studying for my BA in Criminal Justice so I chose to go with bulletproof vests. I found a company called Armor Up that distributes all types of police academy approved protective equipment and body armor. In the Criminal Justice field protection is very important, not only are you there to serve and protect your community but you also need to know that you are taking all the precautions to protect yourself so that you return home safe every day and night. You want to know that when you walk out that door the protection you have on is top of the line. The vests they sell come from very concealable to super duty with extra plating.

I can’t tell you for sure if they are the best out there but they are highly rated. Armor Up strives to have the best customer service, and vow that if you are unhappy they will do what it takes you make you happy. In marketing, you have to take the bad products and turn them into good and this is done by trial and error. Along with trial and error you can gain the information and sales needed by getting your product out there. Here are a few good marketing strategies.
