United States-Centric Views Comparison
With many similarities between both points of view and the ideas of what Christian Americans and Muslim, and Arab Americans stand for, it can be observed that just as many similarities there are differences as well. Upon reading both opinions, many facts stand out. One that is very important is we see people for who they are and not for what they look like or what they believe in. The characteristics and the categories required much thought and I found it difficult to put a few of the characteristics in one category or another.
I also noticed that in some cases the similarities and the differences portray how we see each other. Christian Americans in these two cases appear to be immodest dressers, secular content in schools, and flexible moral values remained the same between both points of view. In the category of Muslim and Arab Americans, similarities included, oppressive to women, modest dress, governed by Qur’an, male-dominated political environment and strict moral values.
