Speech Introductory Paragraph
Politicians cannot afford to ignore the internet anymore. The internet has reshaped politics by the way that the information is spread and broadcast quickly across the internet. With politics being reported at lightning speed, they must be on top of all the latest information and prepared to address any questions that need to be answered. If a political or personal matter comes up they will need to address it immediately. They will also be able to monitor all the latest gossip and bad press and swiftly address it because of the availability of so much information readily available to the public. The internet informs and empowers the American people, they can now stay informed in all aspects of politics and if they choose, they can be more involved in the political process. Thanks to the internet, politicians are now able to stay in touch with their voters through email, blogs, and even by podcast.
