Are you Really Saving Money

The growing price to own and operate a vehicle is the topic of many debates.

As new car prices continue to rise, and the price for unleaded gasoline expected to hit five dollar’s a gallon this Summer people are constantly trying to save money when it comes to their vehicles. And it isn’t just new cars. As a result of new car price increases, the price of used cars also increase. And it doesn’t take long after you purchase a vehicle to start spending money on the vehicle , that is on top of the money you have already spent at time of purchase. So, since most of us have to own a vehicle at one time or another , is there any way to save money on that car or truck. Or should I say, reduce expenses.

For some expenses associated with owing a vehicle like vehicle price, gas, and insurance there are some savings that can be found by shopping around for the best price. Although the overall price is going to be very close to the same on all three of these items listed above. This is due to the fact that all three are in a very competitive market place. Gas prices are one expense that grabs every ones attention because of the , what most people would consider to be outrages price for gasoline, myself included. I have many ideas about why gas prices are so high and about what could be done to reduce the price and make it more affordable. But as long as the oil companies are making billions of dollars from the sale of oil used make gasoline. They probably don’t want to listen to mine or anyone else’s ideas on how we could cut their wages. And the same goes for the auto makers, and the insurance companies.

Is the only thing we can do as car owners complain about these prices and move on. No, there are ways to cut expenses when it comes to operating a vehicle and it comes in the form of, vehicle maintenance. One of the most common forms of vehicle maintenance is having the oil...
