CLAIMING EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES

Extenuating circumstances are problems you might experience that prevent

you from working to the best of your ability. They might include illness

or other personal problems such as the death of someone close to you or

being the victim of a crime. If you do have such problems, you can claim

"extenuating circumstances" so that the School Examination Board can take

them into account when considering your marks. Details on how to claim are

given below.

Your personal circumstances will only be known to a very small Committee

that will consider your claim before the Examination Board. This small
