Week 7 Individual Assignment

The nutrition healthy eating plan I did at the very beginning of the class showed how bad of a choice I made in the foods I eat, now I have sort of changed my eating habits but not as much as I should be changing it.

Now when I first took the pyramid test, it showed my milk intake as 1.6 cups equivalent to my intake for the one I took this week was 1.3 which is down from what I am before it is recommended to be a 3 cup equivalent. Like I had said in my first paper that I am not really a milk drinker, because when I was younger I was lactose intolerant so I never really got back into liking the taste of regular milk. I do like to eat cheese and yogurt and things with dairy in it so that way I try to get most of my dairy.

My meat and beans intake in the first week was a little off from what I thought it should normally be. In the pyramid for the first week it showed my meat and bean intake was 2.6 oz equivalent and from this week it was 3.6 oz which the commendation is 6.5 oz. I had thought that my normal week would be higher and even if not the recommendation amount, but I still have only been eating hamburger and not a whole lot of poultry or pork.

Now as I had said in my first week paper I do love to eat vegetables. I get plenty of vegetables as of 1.4 cups of vegetables which this week was 2.3 cups of vegetables. I am so glad that I am eating closer to the amount of the recommendation amounts of vegetables. I love green beans and corn mostly though. When I go to the store I am trying to buy more vegetables so not only my husband and son can get some kind of vegetables but also so I can get some vegetable intake myself. I know that I should get more of the fresh vegetables but I get a lot of the canned vegetables just because it is hard for me to find the right kinds of vegetables that I like in the fresh vegetables.

I still love eating fruit...
