Abstract

It would be an understatement to say there weren’t any trends that the criminal justice system was being plagued with. Between gangs, terrorism, murder and crime in general we have a huge problem on our hands rather it be old news or a new crime trend.   For the criminal justice system right now the possibility of retaliation from terrorist groups or what type of technology advancement one may come up with to interfere with government job is at the top of the list. The criminal justice system is in need of some serious reform because it is broken. Issues such as poorly trained employee in detention center, overcrowded prisons, lack of rehabilitation programs, racial disparity, and wrongful convictions (West, n.d., p. 01). When individual in society think of the criminal justice system; they think of justice being served to those that wish to harm the justice system. The criminal justice system is expected to be powerful; a system that protects society but like society it is not perfect. The system is always adjusting to protect and serve as society changes. Police departments alone cannot do what society wants and expects of them. The community, schools, and organizations need to meet with police personnel to come up with a plan that works best for all.

One can anticipate that different factors contribute to how crimes occur around the world. For instance; research may indicate that property crimes take place because of economic opportunity.
