Back on August 5, 2010 a small copper and gold mine in north Chille, the San Jose, collapsed trapping workers inside.(2010) In the town of Copiapo, Chille a total of thirty three (33) Chilean miners were trapped in a ventilation chamber 2,300 feet below the ground. For days rescuers tried to reach the miners with no luck; each day looking grimmer than the last. Finally after seventeen (17) long dreary days a small bore hole reached the miners to find them ALL alive and well. Rescuers started sending items like sugars, water, and liquid nutrients down the same bore hole to help sustain the miners while they continued to drill. (2010). Several news stations reported that the ventilation shaft the miners were trapped in provided enough fresh air so they would not be poisoned by the various gasses. On October 9, 2010, two long treasonous months later, a bigger drill broke through to the miners. Then finally on October 13, 2010, 69 long days later, all of the miners were brought back above ground for the first time in two months.
