Abstract

Amazon is an interactive business on the Internet. People from all over the world can make purchases of many different types of items. Amazon is user friendly even to someone with no computer skills. Yet, even though Amazon’s success seems endless, it still struggles with existing as the leading retailer online. Amazon is constantly competing with online powerhouses like Google and Microsoft. Amazon has a vast database system, and with such a large database system there are constant challenges in maintaining this system. Amazon has many B2B and B2C relationships, it must maintain. Without good relationships between other businesses and customers, Amazon may cease to exist.

Amazon is an organization attempting to expand and explore an array of online opportunities for consumers and businesses. Even though Amazon has been successful as an online store, it has not come without challenges. Amazon’s competition strategies with Google and Microsoft have proven to be a sound investment. Amazon like any business has had struggles with data management. How it chooses to overcome those challenges, is what will separate them from their competitors. Amazon’s online business and customer’s relationships are some of its core values. Much of Amazon’s success has come from their ability to communicate on a personal level with all of their business relations.

Amazon is advancing from its core competency as they not only sell merchandise online but they also help other websites and stores by offering programs like the associates program. The associates program allows other websites to earn up to 15% advertising Amazon products on their websites. Amazon payments allows other websites to use “1-Click ®Shopping” from the millions of stored Amazon customers as their checkout procedure.
