Fashion styles are always changing as the years are passing. Fashion, clothing and hairstyles of today are defiantly not the same as they were in the 1950's. In the 1950's fashion was an important key to their appearance. Back in the day both men and women looked more sophisticated and put together. Women usually wore dresses that covered almost their whole body. Men were most seen in suits, or a nice top and a nice pair of trousers. Hairstyles in the 1950's were way different than those of today. For women their hair was usually curly, and used many different types of curls. Men usually had their hair greased back they usually short hair. In the 1950's to today fashion has change dramatically.

Fashion

1950's:

The fashion trends that existed in the 1950's for both men and women were based on the same style. Both genders always looked well dressed, and had a business style look to them. Women usually wore dresses that weren’t too short, that had some sort of floral, or stripe print on them. If a lady was going out for lunch with her friends she would wear a pencil style dress, with white gloves to look sophisticated. An alternative of wearing a dress would be to wear a skirt, poodle skirts were a big part of a women’s wardrobe. Acting and looking “every inch of a lady” was taught as soon as they were in a cradle, it was a given to wear a dress as a female. All men in the 1950's looked almost identical to each other when going to work. They all looked familiar because they only had a few colors to choose from dark blue, dark brown and charcoal, which they were wearing suits. Casual wear for males was mostly a buttoned up shirts, which was tucked into a pair of dress pants. Another trend that was in, in the 1950's was wearing top hats. Top hats could be worn with ay outfit and to any place, as long as you could pull it off.
