The Bead Bar is a craft oriented company providing an outlet for customers to make personalized jewelry. The company has three divisions Studios, Franchises, and Bead Bar on board. The studios are located in New Canaan MA, New York City, Long Island, Washington D.C. and Boston MA.

The Franchise Division is responsible for supplying the franchisees in their franchise divisions in Kansas City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Miami. Bead Bar Onboard is a portable Bead Bar located on cruise ships.

The Bead Bar has 15 full-time employees and 20 part-time employees. The company has expressed the need to migrate from paper-based forms and correspondence to Computer network, database, and supporting software. The Bead Bar would like to rectify issues with invoicing, lost orders, and fulfillment issues. Through the use of a computer network The Bead Bar could efficiently handle daily transactions and streamline the company. Sales, Inventory, accounts can be managed and analyzed to give the company a way to develop in the future.

In the planning phase the Bead Bar Will need to develop a team to steer the development of the computer network system. A systems analyst will do a feasibility study so that the steering committee can help make decisions regarding the project. Once the budget is determined the systems analyst can begin developing a data flow analysis.

The systems analysis phase will allow the systems analyst to provide a data flow diagram. This diagram will help determine the point of data collection and will help the committee decide system requirements and design.

After completing the systems analysis process, we might need to revisit the planning phase. The greater understanding of the requirements of the new system may lead to changes in the feasibility of the system and may necessitate changes in the budget and schedule. (See appendix A)
