President Barack Obama was born August 4, 1961 in Hawaii to Ann Dunham an Barack Obama Sr. His mother was a white woman and his father was from Kenya. Obama’s mother and father got a divorce when he was only two years old. His father died in an automobile accident in 1982 and his mother later died of ovarian cancer in 1995.

In 1967, his family moved to Indonesia and attended school there until he was ten years old and then moved back to Hawaii with his maternal grandparents and eventually graduated from high school in 1979. After high school, Barack moved to Los Angeles where he went to Occidental College for two years and then transferred to Columbia University and majored in political science. Barack later entered Harvard Law School in late 1988 and after the end of his first year; he was selected as editor of the Harvard Law School.

In 1996, Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate, and reelected in 1998. Once he was elected he gained bipartisan support for legislation reforming ethics and health care laws. That’s where Obama stands today, with trying to get the economy and health care to where everyone can afford it.

Barack Obama announced his 2008 Presidential nomination. This is when history was made because everybody stopped to listen to what he had to say and it all started making sense. He was elected and on January 20, 2009 he was inaugurated into the White House. He speech addressed all the issues that he plans on getting taken care of such as ; Foreign policy, health care, coming together as one, and starting a new era.

The inauguration process began with Diane Feinstein introducing everybody from George Bush Sr. to Jimmy Carter. She gave the opening speech and the address. Vice President elect Joe Biden was sworn in first by John Paul at 11:58am. The invocation was given by Rev. Rick Warren. Aretha Franklin sung My Country Tis’ of thee, which sounded very good.
