Introduction

The author will explore the strategies of the world’s top company Apple Inc. and discover the methods and ideologies of the company. The main outcome of this paper is to learn the marketing skills and various strategies which are applied by large companies for their success. The writer will discuss the historical perspective on Apple Inc., and the current products and services provided. Also identify current issues that may affect the future of the company and the leadership and management structure. In addition, discuss Apple’s market distribution- whether Apple is a global or regional company.

Historical Perspective

Apple is an American multinational corporation that designs and markets consumer electronics, computer software, and personal computers. Apple was created in 1976, by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne (Apple Inc, 2011). They left ATARI Computers to create their own company. The first computer they made was called Apple I, it was box wood made with a basic motherboard inside, then came the Apple II it was the first computer to offer the option of a color monitor with its color interface (Apple Inc, 2011).

In 1984, the company introduced the first computer with a graphical user interface, however while Apple is designing all these sleek computers and trying to stay ahead of the competition the company had a rival; IBM and they were dominating the market fast. The mid 1990s, Apple started slowly declining, but that didn’t last long because in 1998, Steve Jobs introduced the new IMac; IMac was loaded with a complete suite of software and a new operating system called Mac OS X (Apple Inc, 2011). This computer was a success but Apple wasn’t done there they created the iBook it was the company’s new laptop....
