Madeleine Albright

Thesis: Madeleine Albright is a woman of determination, accomplishment, and most importantly, she is a woman wise beyond her youthful seventy two years.

I. Madeleine Albright is a woman who grew up needing diplomacy in her everyday life. As she grew older, Albright used her diplomatic skills acquired from her youth, expanded on them, and became one of America’s most important foreign policy advisors and diplomats.

A. Escaped Czechoslovakia, moved to the United Kingdom, and then received American citizenship.

B. Won Ivy league scholarships and achieved multiple high ranking careers in the area of foreign relations.

II. Madeleine Albright has had one of the most fascinating lives of any person involved in government, and has held important political positions under a variety of politicians.

A. Albright was the 64th Secretary of State, the former President of the Center for National Policy, has worked under Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Obama, and has campaigned for Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2008 presidential Democratic primary elections.

III. Albright has been a stunning example of what women are able to achieve in American government.

A) Albright’s quote, “There is a special place in hell reserved for women who do not help other women”.

B) Albright believes that women are different in handling political dictions, and her view is that there need to be more women in politics.
