1. What are the most important personal satisfactions and dissatisfactions connected with your occupation? What part of this job do you personally find most satisfying? Most challenging? What do you like and not like about working in this industry?

In retail, the personal satisfactions for me is the work between me and the staff and customers. I enjoy the fashion and merchandising of the industry but the real satisfaction is training and developing someone and seeing them take that knowledge and growing to a leader in the company. My dissatisfactions is like many others that work for large corporations. The office and corporate politics. In some stores the management team works as a family. In my current store the culture is every man for him/ herself. You will hear words such as "not my job" and "who was here when it happened, I wasn't!" It makes it very hard to operate as a team. Having a team the unreachable. In the beginning of my career I use to talk to every associate the same. I have learned as years -passed the every person is different. What inspires one person doesn't always inspire another. So trying to find that persons niche and inspiration. It is an industry that gives you free range to work with people and be creative. I never run out of things to work on. That being said the hours in retail can be quit harsh. The lack of a quality of life and enjoying a complete holiday can be a strain.

2. What was your career path to arrive to your current position? Does it differ from the typical career path of someone in your position? If so, how?

Started out as an associate. Went from an associate to full time merchandising lead. Then finally a selling manager to an assistant manager.

3. What previous education have you received?

I received an AA degree and have worked in the industry for 6 yrs. Starting as an associate working my way up to an assistant manager.
