Introduction

Today’s modern society is highly dependent on the internet; therefore, it makes sense to offer clients an online site where they can purchase products. Nowadays, it seems no one is able to live without internet access; phones have the ability to connect to the internet and even televisions now come equipped with an internet-ready option. Schools too, use the internet to teach their students. People pay their bills online, shop online, talk or instant message each other online, email each other, etc. The internet offers endless opportunities for business ventures.

Developing an online site for a business requires many different aspects to be considered. Identification and proper follow through of these various aspects will allow for successful implementation of electronic commerce. Issues such as security, credibility, and privacy will need to be addressed; and marketing variables to promote the new way of business will also be pursued.

Electronic Commerce in Social Media

Since there is a demand for the internet, it is highly recommended that all aspects of implementing a site are investigated and that the pros and cons are considered. First, one must understand the negative aspects of handling a site such as fraudulent actions by consumers. A site must be executed with proper safety measures so consumers can feel safe shopping online. Additionally, it is important to reach all types of consumers by advertising through different social media types. Socialites, teenagers, parents, blue and white collar workers, for example, may all use the same social networks (i.e. Facebook); therefore, this is a prime place to advertise new business ventures, which can attract all walks of life.
