History

Six Sigma is a revolutionary process developed with the goal to dramatically reduce or eliminate organizational inefficiencies, i.e. defects or non-conformances that translate into bottom-line profits. Six sigma process that has transformed from a long pursuit of control over process and product quality levels. Most people who think of six sigma, think of Jack Welsh the CEO of General Electric who championed the process in late 1995 to change how industry approaches quality. Jack Welsh set out to achieve product improvement goals of $150million though the vigilant use of six sigma methodologies. Jack Welsh launched his effort in late 1995 with two hundred projects and intense training programs. The initiative begun by Jack Welsh was far more productive than he could have imagined with over $320 million in productivity gains and profits.
