Personal Reflection Paper

Critical thinking is very important when it comes to different types of situations and debates and opinions. We do not always have to accept information at face value; we can look up information on our own to learn for ourselves before accepting what someone tells us. During this Critical thinking class I have learned to develop my thinking and to establish better thinking, How to solve problems and issues, understanding types of questions that lead to critical thinking. Critical thinking has taught me how to understand criticism and how to deal with opinions.

(Glaser, 2011) Critical thinking is that mode of thinking about any subject, content, or problem, in which the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully taking charge of the structures inherent in thinking and imposing intellectual standards upon them. To me critical thinking is being able to think critically by assessing different information, views, and opinions. Also critical thinking is examining different outcomes that may happen with different situations, for example choosing to sky dive but thinking critical about what safety measures are in place in case something goes wrong. Critical thinking also involves coming up with solutions and resolutions to different ideas and problems which can help a person with finances and personal issues.

There are three significant things that I learned during the critical thinking class which are promoting creative thinking, distinguishing problem from issues, and understanding how assumptions can interfere with critical thinking.
