Soldiers from the 81st Military Mail Terminal, 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, after a nine-month deployment April 10.

Four additional Soldiers returned three days earlier, making it a total of 13 Soldiers that deployed with the unit. Their mission was making sure that all the mail coming in was directed to the right army postal offices.

The unit was based in Kuwait but conducted operations in various locations such as Qatar, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Although it was only a small group of Soldiers that deployed for this mission, the command felt that it was necessary to welcome them home in style as if they were a larger element.

“Deployments are tough and when you work hard you want to feel appreciated.” Said Lt. Col Holbrook, Angelia, the commander of the 4th STB, 4th Sust. Bde.

“Every unit no matter how small deserves a great welcome home,” she also stated.

The Soldiers of the 81st Military Mail Terminal truly appreciated the love and support that they received at their redeployment ceremony.

“I feel awesome,” said Sgt Stacy, J,C, a supply noncommissioned officer-in-charge with the 81st Military Mail Terminal, 4th STB, 4th Sust. Bde. “The first thing I’d love to do is to eat at red lobster and head up to Austin.”

With the ceremony complete and block leave scheduled for all the Soldiers, the 81st AG postal will transition back to Garrison life and begin to train for the next mission in the coming months.
