Imani All Mine

The title of my book is called Imani All Mine written by Connie Porter. It was published in 1999 and has 218 pages. I would rate this young adult a 4 because it is base on a true story. My book is about a 14 year old name Tasha. She got raped and pregnant by a boy that she met at the skating rink. Tasha doesn’t tell her mother about what happened to her, because she thinks her mother would have thought she wanted to have sex with that boy. After 4 months of pregnancy she had not told her mother, Erlene. One morning Tasha’s mother walked into her room while she was getting ready for school and that is how she found out she was pregnant. Tasha had her baby girl and named her Imani, meaning faith. Her mother was upset at first but she got over it and started helping Tasha with the baby. Tasha is fell in love with a boy that she has had a crush on school named Peanut, who has became her boyfriend. One day, Imani was a young child she was standing by the window when she got shot and killed by a drug-dealer. A week before Tasha buried her baby girl she found out she was pregnant again, but she didn’t get raped this time it was by her boyfriend, Peanut. She said she wasn’t going to hide this pregnancy from anyone, not even her mother.
