Abstract

This paper will describe three specific theories of early psychology (behaviorism,

functionalism, and cognitive). Then from the three theories, they will be compared

and contrasted in similarities and differences. Finally, a description will be given in how

each perspective or theory chosen influences psychology in today’s world.

Behaviorism, which can be also called behavioral psychology, is one theory that is

based on the notion that many types of behaviors are obtained through learning. The

way of learning comes about through contact with the environment. The behaviorists

hold that the way we respond to the incitement of the environment determines our
