SUMMARY

The novel starts of with the character Nick Carraway, who just moved in to New York City to work in the Bond Business, and then he rented a house in West Egg, where the rich and socialites resides. Nick visited his cousin Daisy, who is married to Tom Buchanan, who is long before part of his social circle in Yale. He then meets Jordan Baker, a girl he is attracted to. He then meets Jay Gatsby, his neighbor who lives in a somewhat gothic mansion, throws luxurious parties every Saturday, Nick was very intrigued with Gatsby until the day comes that he was finally invited to one of his parties. He then learns that Gatsby was crazy for Daisy; they were lovers way back 1917. Gatsby convinces Nick to arrange a small reunion for him and Daisy; fortunately Gatsby’s favor was answered after their little reunion their love was already rekindled.

It wasn’t long enough that Tom had the feeling that Daisy and Gatsby has an affair, a even though he himself also has an extra marital affair, he just couldn’t accept the fact that his wife was cheating on him. Daisy and Gatsby’s love were put to the test, Tom accused Gatsby of doing illegal job, of course still being Tom’s wife she somewhat believed in him.
