There are many motivational strategies that people use in their daily lives. Strategies are a way people maintain a schedule in life. Strategies help a person to focus on what may be needed for the situation. To be more specific, motivational strategies are what make people function at work. Sometimes a job can be enjoyable and on the other had not so enjoyable. In some cases if there is a reward at the end of tasks it makes it more willing to complete. However, motivational strategies can be a powerful value. One motivational strategy that I came across and struck my eye was the Maslow’s Hierarchy of human needs. The hierarchy of human need can be applied to my workplace as a pre-school teacher in many forms. The hierarchy of human need include the survival needs and the growth needs. The needs start from survival and are completed at the growth needs.

Physiological needs are to maintain the human body. The way that I would apply this need to myself as a preschool teacher, would be eating healthy meals and be well rested before I get to work. These Strategies would be important because I do not know what the day has in store for me. Each and every day is different and challenging in an unexpected way. If my mind and body are not well nothing else will matter until I recover. I feel this way because I think that I can not function I can not make logical decisions and the decisions I make affect the lives of innocent children.

The next need is also very important, which is the need to be safe. The way I apply this need as a preschool teacher is to be around my co- worker who make me feel safe and secure, and not out of place or uncomfortable. When these needs are fulfilled my day is a breeze. But if get put into a place where I feel uncomfortable I feel stressed out and start to panic. In situation like this I do not want to be at work I wish I could leave and crawl into a hole.
