The author has chosen to write her research paper on the commonalities and differences found in the Dominican, Mexican American, Puerto Ricans, and Cuban American ethnical groups. The paper will cover the linguistics, political, social, economic, religious, and family status as these groups live in America.

Each ethnic group may come from different ancestral backgrounds, although even with the differences they have, each has many common points that connect them. They all have come to America, with minute differences but those differences are somewhat similar because they have come to start anew in America. Each hopes to have the American Dream or to just live safely in a community that will accept them while earning an honest wage for the family.

Dominican Americans

Migrants from Dominican Republic pass through Puerto Rico and many also return to the motherland to become entrepreneurs after living in America. The main cause through census studies found that they migrated because of the political and social instability in the homeland, some fled because of the violence and political regime that was in power or the lack of job opportunities. Many accept jobs that are underpaid and nonunionized that many White Americans refuse to work; some have experienced racial prejudice in this area as well. This ethnic group is fairly recent in the establishment of communities in America with many speaking English already when they migrate, even though Spanish is the primary language. Dominican Americans may integrate American values and culture because of the long occupation of the United States along with the media coverage viewed, although they have not released their strong love of their country and culture.
