Bank plays certain important roles in the society, from financial to economical. However, in today’s world, bank is more than these. Bank should also take care of the human and environmental aspects of the society. Hence, what would be the role of a bank to contribute to a sustainable city? In the coming session of the report, we will bring out the complex problems that a sustainable city present and generate an original project solution so that the bank can better finance projects to help cities to be sustainable.

Relationship between “city” and “sustainable” The problem of externalities affects the financing and development of different initiatives to tackle social problems. In the aspect of social problems this is comparatively obvious and serious than private sectors. The practice of donation, protection and conservation are ignoring the market mechanism as they stress on dealing social problems with implicit return. The implicit return is crucial but not considered productive to society. This hinders the support from private sectors and the public with abstract possible return to them. These issues are believed to be solved by the upcoming community of for-profit sustainability-aimed businesses and individuals. They advocate sustainability contribution to society by for-profit initiatives addressing local social problems and reinvest the profit gained back to the initiatives. They can improve each local society starting from a micro level and solve the problem of externalities with market mechanism. However their development is hindered by the following issues.
