A. A survey of the residents of a new subdivision on why they happened to select that area in which to live. You also wish to secure some information about what they like and do not like about life in the subdivision.

For this instance personal interview should be used. Although you are interviewing new residents who hardly know anyone in the subdivision face-to-face interview is the best method here. Instate of showing at their home and asking personal questions, a comfortable place in the community such as picnic area, pools, or parks can be used to conduct this survey. This can avoid disturbance participant personal space. This kind of survey is very expensive; however, the target population lives in small geographical area. Personal interview is a powerful tool to probing questions and aid the interviewer to follow-up questions and ask for more explanations, and gathering valuable information by observation (Cooper−Schindler, 253). This research will enhance future investment and will provide the buyer will positive and negative feedback to make the correct decision because purchasing a house is a vital decision in a person life.

B.  A poll of students at Metro University on their preferences among three candidates who are running for president of the student government.

I think the most proper method to conduct this survey is to use self-regulated survey via the Metro University website. For a polling process the survey should be reliable, conservative, and quick. The benefit of using a web survey is that the participants will feel anonymous; therefore conveying their opinion becomes easier. There will be no need for personal interviewer since the survey is simple and does not need intensive explanation.
