For many years now abortion has been a big controversy. There are many people for abortion, and many more people against abortion. Without knowing the circumstances of someone’s life and their reasons for the choice they made how can one really say that choosing to abort a pregnancy is wrong or not?

I am for abortion. I believe that everyone should be able to make their own choices of if they want to be a parent or not. However, I do not believe in abortion as a form of birth control. For example, there are some people out there who will continue to have unprotected sex, not worrying about the consequences, and just have it in their head that they can just have an abortion if they do end up getting pregnant. That is why I also feel a law should be passed for free birth control and sex education classes should be offered for any teenager even thinking about having sex.

Now, if someone was raped, or addicted to drugs, or not financially able to take care of a child I feel they should have the choice in if they want to keep the baby or not. They should not be looked down upon for making that choice. If a female was raped and got pregnant who’s to say she won’t hold anger for her unborn child, or that they guy who did it did not have any diseases. Would it be right to make the mother suffer the emotional damage because society thinks that abortion is not right?

Because abortion is highly frowned upon many people feel they are forced to perform their own abortions, unsafe abortions. “Unsafe abortions result in approximately 70 thousand maternal deaths and 5 million disabilities per year globally.
