Mothers make the World go round

Many people believe that women make better parents than men and that is why they have the greater role in raising children in most societies. I believe women and men both have an equal opportunity to be good parents. But, because single mothers constitute for about 83% of the total number of single parents, society automatically puts the sole responsibility of raising children on the mother.

With this in mind, it’s a known fact that a mother and her baby will already have a strong bond before she gives birth. How could they not, they’re Physical attached to each other for nine months, sometimes longer. The anticipation of meeting your baby for the first time can be overwhelming, as well as exciting. I remember counting down the days until my baby girl would arrive. May 1, 1998 was one of the most important days of my life, it’s the day I officially became a mother. I felt like I already knew my baby girl, and she already knew me. From that day on nothing else in the world was more important to me than my role as a mother.

Additionally, I believe the statement “women make better parents” is a Cliché. It’s an excuse that society uses to cover-up the alarming number of men who’s abandoning their children. They leave the women to raise the children all alone, not considering or caring about the negative impact they’re causing on the child. When a parent leaves, children will usually show their emotions differently. For example, females are mostly attached to their fathers “Daddy’s little girl” and his leaving may consequently cause her to look for love or a father figure in all the wrong places. Like from an outside male. Unfortunately, because she may lack the proper guidance from her father she allows the male to take advantage of her sexually, physically and mentally. Nine times out of ten, those are the young women that end up in violent relationships and she has no clue of how to get out of the situation. Only because she lack...
