Personal Responsibility

What personal responsibility means to me, it means taking responsibility for my own action following through with the decision that I may or may not make, be it negative or positive outcome. Setting a standard for myself that will allow me to either fail or succeed. Setting limits by allowing me not to become overwhelmed by the stressors that may or may not be included with studies. Making a schedule that will allow me to be able to attend class, study, and get an ample amount rest. That will make me more capable to start anew the next day and also retain the information from the previous class day. Attending class plays a huge role in personal responsibility. Because you cannot learn anything if you do not attend class in which also plays into limitations. Reading and understanding the course material plays a role as well. A person can read material without retaining a single word because they how you say just do not understand what they’re reading. Taking it upon oneself to ask for help in understanding the material is a big step in personal responsibility. That’s what your instructors are there for not only to put out the information but also to make it easier for you to understand the information you they are putting out. Personal responsibility and college success go hand and hand. Because without personal responsibility, not being responsible for the things that you do can lead you to a very unsuccessful academic experience. Becoming negligent in your studies can lead to failing grades in which will lower your GPA. In this case unless you correct your mistakes then and there will lead to the latter. Be it academic probation which you really want to try to avoid being placed on. Failing courses can also lead to recoupment placing a strain on your financial stability in which you do not want.
