The Decision Making Process

My decision making process has changed over the years, from when I was younger to a few years ago, and the older I get and the more I learn the better decisions I make. My decision-making process is not as detail as the text but I do have a process and it tends to change with the more I learn. My process includes analyzing, critical thinking, and having no regrets about the decision I made. The first thing I do is analyze the decision, the text calls it identify and diagnose the problem. I think about the pros and cons, how the decision will affect me and my family now and in the future, I think about the benefits and drawbacks. The second thing I do is come up with a back-up plan because over the years I have learned anything can happen and sometimes does, the texts calls this generating alternative solution. Then I make the decision and see it through, the text calls this making the choice, and implement the decision. My decision-making process is similar to the text books but I squeezed my process into three steps. According to Bateman and Snell (2011), the steps in the decision-making process are (1) identify and diagnose the problem, (2) generate alternative solutions, (3) evaluate alternatives, (4) make the choice, (5) implement the decision, and (6) evaluate the decision (Chapter 3).

I recently had to make a decision that would affect the present and my future. I have been looking for work and was offered two jobs which is blessing, but one job has long hours and great pay, and the second job is part-time with okay pay. The problem is I just received my AA in Accounting and I need to do an internship to get some experience in that field, and if I take the first job I would not be able to do the internship. If I take the second job I can do the internship but things would be really tight at home because of the low pay. So I need to decide if put off...
