Imani all mine is a story about an unwed teenage mother, Tasha, which goes through daily struggles in life, parenthood, love, and death. Tasha grows up and lives in the “ghetto” neighborhood in New York. Tasha has no idea who her father is; she has never even seen him. Her mother has let her believe that for fourteen years of her life that her father is dead. Tasha spends her time taking care of her baby girl Imani, schoolwork and dodging bullets from street gangs. Tasha goes through a lot of pain in her life for instance when she was raped. Tasha had no self confidence she thought she was to dark skinned and fat, until one day at the skating ring a boy stepped up to her tell her how beautiful she was. Basically lowering her to go up on the dark hill and that’s where she was raped where nobody could hear her screams and plead for help. ''How stupid I was that night. . . .
