Leading the Pack

Many interesting facts were discovered about my leadership style. Through the results of the questionnaire and this week’s reading materials, it is determined my leadership traits favor that of a leader as than a supervisor or a mix of both. This revelation also revealed some facts on where my strengths and weaknesses lie. Knowledge is power so the more you know the more empowered you will be to be a strong leader. Even though challenging situations may arise knowing your leadership style will make you a successful leader and improve employee relations of among the group because knowing your strengths increase the chance of success and the quality and productivity of work from the group is generally high.

Knowing your leadership style will make you a more successful leader and improve employee relations among the group. The leadership style favored is the democratic style. In this type of style there is an informal leader that is shared among the group, possible as a subject matter expert as well as with the leader with seniority of the group. This role is easy for me to relate to. Currently my role is to assist my supervisor monitor a level one technical helpdesk and fill in as an initial contact for business related questions concerning incoming calls and incident tickets. Some of my other responsibilities are to provide feedback to new agents during 90-day probationary period on performance and areas of opportunity. It is a fairly new team with many changes in ticketing systems and application integrations which adds to the learning curve. Luckily there are two of us in the same role.
