Latino Culture

Knowledge of Latino cultural customs will help provide respect and a greater

understanding the culture.

People are different within the same culture and have different socio economical

status, educational levels, gender roles and or behaviors, but the most profound

differencesare cultural.

Culture is a way of living based on heritage, experience and environment.

This paper will address the Latino culture, heritage, environment, and

experiences found in that culture.

Latino heritage

Latino was created during the 1970’s by Mexican, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Central

and South Americans because it is more noticeable that these countries have a

connection to Latin America.

Latin descent have played a key role of influencing American culture throughout

history ,however it was the effort of talented men and women over periods of decades

to convey the importance of Latino culture to the forefront of American awareness. The

famous men and women will leave a legacy Latino heritage and impact the lives of

people who dare to follow behind them. There are many examples of famous people of

Latin descent, such as Carlos Santana, Jennifer Lopez, and Gloria Esteban who are all

in the music business. Then, successful actors Dezi Arnez, and Martin Sheen who

made a way for George Lopez, Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek to join the legacy of

becoming skilled performers.

“America celebrates the culture and traditions of U.S. residents who trace their roots

to Spain, Mexico and the Spanish-speaking nations of Central America, South America

and the Caribbean. Sept. 15 was chosen as the starting point for the celebration

because it is the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa
