Abstract:
Over the past decade, China has experienced a lot of global environmental change, social change, and environmental change. China is known for its big population, long history, resplendent culture and unique customs. China has experienced a significant period of rapid growth spanning three decades, shifting from a centrally planned to a market based economy. China is known to be an upper middle-income country that has difficult development needs. In China poverty reduction remains a challenge (Rugin).Rapid economic ascendance has brought on many challenges as well, including demographics issues related to an aging population as well as the internal migration of labor; high inequality; rapid urbanization; challenges to environmental sustainability; and external differences. Significant policy adjustments are required in order for China’s growth to be sustainable. The United States is one of China's primary suppliers of power-generating equipment, aircraft and parts, computers and industrial machinery, raw materials, pharmaceuticals and chemical and agricultural products. (Facts about China) However, U.S. exporters continue to have concerns about protection of intellectual property rights, fair market access due to testing and standards that do not necessarily correspond with international standards, and policies that pursue import substitution. In addition, a lack of transparency in the regulatory and rule-making process makes it difficult for businesses to plan for changes in the domestic market structure.(Rugin)
