Demonstrative communication is defined as sending and receiving messages. Demonstrative communication entails sending and receiving wordless messages (Nayab, 2010). This communication involves the exchange of thoughts, messages, by speech, signals, writing or behavior. Communication can be verbal or nonverbal. Some nonverbal communication includes facial expressions, body posture, eye contact or gestures. Where written communication can be done through emails, report, articles or books.

Demonstrative communication is used to reinforce verbal communication, though it can stand-alone and convey messages on its own. Facial expressions are the most common among all nonverbal communications. Demonstrative communication reinforces verbal communications, for example, a firm handshake or a friendly demeanor can speak volumes about someone in a job interview. This can enforce verbal communication. A person can tell if another individual is friendly by they way they say hello, smile, or how cheerful he/she may be. Also if a person looks another in the eye when he/she is speaking.

Nonverbal communication can give another ideas of what a person may be thinking or how he/she feels about the situation. This will allow a person to gain negative or positive feedback regarding the situation. This can be used to an advantage to proceed with the conversation in a positive manner or turn it around to be a positive conversation.

Nonverbal communication, or body gestures, is a very important form of communication.   When working together with others, we constantly provide and accept numerous signals.   The body language we make for example, eye contact, gestures, posture, body...
