Introduction

Riordan Manufacturing HRIS system was established in 1992. Their HR system was designed to track employees’ information. For instance, their personal information, pay rate, personal exemption for tax purposes, hire date and vacation hours etc. While on the other hand Riordan legal system and activities are handled by Litteral & Finkel. Litteral & Finkel provides legal services like tax law, real estate transactions, employee law, immigration matters, and labor law and customs regulations. In this paper we will analyze the HR system integration with tools to create a single integrated application. The company should have more specific information systems technology. This paper will identify and describe existing and needed business systems and subsystems.

Company’s Background

Riordan Manufacturing is a global plastic manufacturer employing 550 people with the annual earnings of $46 million. The company is wholly owned by Riordan Industries, a Fortune 500 companies.

Considerations for HRIS and Legal system

“The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is one of the solutions for the data entry, tracking, and payroll and accounting functions within a business” (Heathfield, n.d.). Human resource information system is the major system that Riordan has used internally. HRIS has been used by different departments like Human Resources and legal departments. “HRIS does not provide authorization for the concentration of information between websites and the software program package is out-of-date” (Kavanagh, et. al., 2008). By upgrading this HR system will help the company to combine employees’ records of training and development, resumes, personal data information.
